Jose Jara
Hi! My name's Jose Jara. I'm currently a grade 12 student at Chaminade College School, majoring in courses primarily focused on business management. For my post-secondary education, I am enrolling in Ryerson University's Business Management program double majoring in Marketing and Finance. I am motivated by my love for learning and finding solutions to problems that people encounter every day. Because of that, I try to learn something new every day so that I can find ways to help others in life. This motivation has given me the opportunity to do charity work through working with the North York Harvest Food Bank, raising money for sports equipment for low-income athletes, as well as future plans to work for non-profit organizations.

Chess
2009-Present
Ever since I was younger, I had fallen in love with the game of chess. The amount of thought that had to be put in before making a move as well as thinking well ahead of the current game interested me because of how challenging it was overall. With this love for chess I ended up going into it professionally, and have attended every provincial championship since grade 6. I have also had the privilege of attending the Canadian Youth Chess Championship playing U16 bracket in 2017.
Sport Climbing
2015-Present
In grade 8 I was introduced to indoor rock climbing after going on a class field trip to Joe Rockhead's. After that I have been consistently practicing and just having fun doing Lead Climbing. In the future I plan on practicing Bouldering and Speed Climbing, and if I end up getting skilled enough I plan on joining the Olympics as that has been my lifelong dream.

From grade 8 all throughout high school, I have placed a priority on my school work and overall work ethic. Although sometimes it ends up being very hard, I make sure that I finish everything no matter what it takes. Because of this, I have been able to make it onto the honour roll list every year so far.

As a kid, I always realized that school was an important component in life as people never stop learning. I also realized that the opportunities offered to me were endless, as long as I put the time and effort to attain them. As such I ended up going for the best opportunity that I could get and ended up going for a SHSM Red Seal in Business

After high school, I will be going to Ryerson's Ted Rogers School of Business Management to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management. I decided this pathway because I have always wanted to help people while also communicating with as many people as possible, and I realized that running my own business would give me the resources to do that.
