About Me

Abel Abraha

My name is Abel Abraha, and welcome to my portfolio. Before I get into detail on my portfolio I would like to share some background information about myself. I am currently a high school student attending Chaminade College school. And will hopefully, be finishing my grade 12 year at Chaminade and will be going into work after. I come from a very loving but not so much understanding family. I am very lucky to have 3 sisters and both parents. I am the only boy my parents had and what that meant for me was that I had very high expectations. I am the 3 child so that sort of lowered their standards because they were already hard on my older sisters.  My family has helped me with a lot over the years at Chaminade with dealing with stressful exams, projects and many more. For that, I can say that my family is very supportive. I am very passionate about sports and is working to play professional soccer. Sports have shown me a different way to look at life and for that, I am also very grateful.

Extra-Curriculars

ECAO YSC

2011-2019

ECAO YSC stands for, Eritrean Canadian something something youth soccer club. I have been on this team for a very long time. I had first joined this team in 2010 and had only stayed for a week or so because I hadn't known any of the players and was very shy to introduce my self. I then quit to then later join in 2011 this is when it had taken a toll in my life. When I had come back I wasn't as shy as before so I started to introduce myself and had started making jokes and I slowly started loving coming. ECAO isn't only a soccer club but more as a family it is mainly Eritreans which gives the players an especially kinda bond. ECAO now has players with different nationalities and religions.

York Jets FC

2018-2019

York Jets is a club I have recently joined. I was very nervous about joining this club at first because they were known for being on the top most of the time. After my first tryout, I realized that if I'm, not confident in myself who will be for me. I was later than the only one who made the roster. Playing on this team showed me that there isn't going to be anyone there for you at all times so all you can do is trust that you can achieve anything you desire, well almost anything.

Eritrea, Asmera

2019

I was born in Eritrea and lived there for two years before coming to Canada. I can't remember my time there when I was a baby but I do remember the times we went back every summer. we used to go back home to visit my grandma, uncles, aunts, and all my cousins. I remember that the kids used to ask me to bring food outside for them and I also remember that they would use slingshots to hit birds with rocks so they can eat as well. Being in their presence and seeing the way they lived taught me a lot. They always had a smile on their faces they didn't care about the new jordans they just wanted to spend their days and nights with each other.

Academics

OSSD

Chaminade College Highschool

I have attended Chaminade College Highschool for 4 years. I am now hopefully about to graduate and will be receiving my Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Why I am not for certain is that because of my absence in the English class.
